Apr 14, 2007 - Although we booked the Astaka field for this morning, it was flooded by cars, rugby/soccer players and water! UM's Varsity Green was not being used so we happily migrated to the nicer, softer fields and games started at 9.40am after much delay. Sorry about that!

Team of the Day - Lime Green Lime Green bounced back with more skilled players on the roster winning 2 games today, after 2 losses in the previous round.
Gameplay improve by getting more players on the scoresheet with assists and scorers too! With these 2 wins, Green moves up to 2nd place from bottom place in the last round!

Highlight of the Day - Chilli Red squeezed the Lemon!
It was a day of intense action, ending on a high-note when 3rd rank team, Chilli Red won a hard-fought battle to notch a win against leaders Lemon Yellow.
Despite playing with only 11 players, Red came back from a 2 point defisit to equalize at Hard-Cap (45mins) to force another 2 points. Team work, short and sharp passes won the day for Red, securing the next 2 points for a win!

On the contrary, Chilli Red was playing with newbies Ee Weng, Sathya, Amir, Sean and Pyan whom stepped up to the handle and played remarkably well.
They took some time to gel as a team and setted into a groove to make a comeback against Lime Green in the first game.
However, too little too late, saw Red losing to Green at 5-8.

Elsewhere, Baby Blue slumped to a 2 game defeat despite having more experienced players on the roster. Performance and stats seem a far-cry from the previous matchday. Interestingly, Blue seem to have played better when the youngsters captained by Soon stepped up to handle and control the game instead of letting other experienced players dictate. Point to ponder? Player growth and skill development is the focus of the league, after all.
Will league leaders Lemon Yellow continue to dominate in the final round on April 28? It would be interesting if Green beats Yellow and Red beats Blue to create a 3-way tie for first place. The champions would then be determined in the very last game, down to the very last point!
