Lemon Yellow's Unity League Champs!

Apr 28, 2007 - Lemon Yellow left it till the very last game and the very last point to clinch the title of league champions! Chilli Red was runner-up losing out on a mere 3 point(goal) difference, having tied for the title!

Losing their game to Green in the 5th game of the league, Yellow allowed a 3-way tie for 1st place with Red and Green, leading on a slim goal difference. Chilli Red narrowly beat Baby Blue to set up a final showdown with Lime Green and a shot at the title, but it was too little too late even for the power-packed Chillies.

Team of the Day - Chilli Red
Chilli Red tok center-stage in an intense showdown with Baby Blue, whom was battling against last place while Red was looking to book a final finish.
It was neck-and-neck till the final minute when Chilli Red claimed victory with a universal point to finish 7-6 against Baby Blue! Psyched for a winner-takes-all match against Lime Green, captain Kit powered the chilli-hot youngsters to their second win in a row to tie for first place!
However, Lemon Yellow notched a win over Baby Blue in their final match, and Chilli Red lost out on the title by a mere 3 point (goal) difference having comeback from an earlier deficit. Pulsating!

Player of the Day - Sing, Lime Green
Lime Green might've been lacking some key players today but their players certainly did not lack spirit. Sing fouled Pyan from Red in Red's end-zone and called fouled on himself admist an intense final game. Impressive! A true ultimate player, examplary to all.
Elsewhere, Baby Blue tried with all their spirit, but they could not break from last place. Did they truly miss Soon, captain and Player of the Day from the first Match Day. It was a day of misthrows and sloppy passes. Patience is key, and composure might have won the day.

Ultimate Unity - It was great joy to see the players from different teams talking to each other, having a laugh at lunch sponsored by an 'ultimate angel'. I was truly enjoying the moment that I didn't whip out my camera to freeze the moment in time.
This Unity League was the brain-child of 'Mad Doctor' Hazwan, with the aim of bringing the ultimate players together and break the cultural and team barriers. Ultimate is usually played in team-based formats hence players stick solely to their teammates.
Over the weeks and 6 games, the players have learned each other's names and have something in common to talk about now. Even the college-going players approach us working adults for a chat, to get to know us better.
